  •（1）加拿大佛教会成立于1968年，是由性空、乐渡、诚祥三位长老从香港移民加拿大之后所成立。

  •Founded in 1968, the Buddhist Association of Canada was established after the three Elder Masters, Sing Hung, Lok To and Shing Cheung, immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong.

  •湛山地处龙脉、卧佛布局、佛陇真传

  •Cham Shan Temple, as a true upholder of Buddha Dharma, is sitting on the backbone of a dragon with its topography resembling a reclining Buddha.

  The main work of the Buddhist Association of Canada is as follows:

  •1.翻译佛经：乐渡长老把中文佛经翻译成英文，有30多种，如大般涅槃经、心经、禅修介绍等。

  •1.Scripture translation: Elder Master Lok To dedicated decades to translation of scriptures and made remarkable achievements. Under the guidance and supervision of Venerable Lok To, over thirty Buddhist literature and sutras have been translated into English, such as The Mahaparinirvana Sutra, The Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra and The Practice of 'Chan'.

  2. 将佛教与当地多元文化相互融合

  Integrate Buddhism with local multiculturalism

  •1. 1967-2004年，湛山三位长老艰苦创业。广建道场，提供信众修行

  •1. From 1967 to 2004, the three Elder Masters of Cham Shan Temple worked diligently to establish temples in order to provide a place of worship for Buddhist practitioners.

  •2.2004-2019年,达义大和尚担任加拿大佛教会会长，湛山精舍住持。提出【智慧人生】的弘法理念：目的是倡导佛教要走出寺院，走进社会，将佛法传到每家每户。

  •2. In 2004-2019, Venerable Master Dayi Shi served as the President of the Buddhist Association of Canada and Abbot of Cham Shan Temple. He introduced the concept of "wisdom in life" and advocated for Buddhism to step outside the Temple and into society so that the Dharma can spread to every household.

  方法一：借用媒体平台宣传佛法。如电台讲经，报纸刊登佛教文章，新媒体推广（网站、微信公众号、Youtube、优酷、Facebook等）。

  •Method 1: Using the media to promote Dharma, such as giving radio lectures, publishing Buddhist articles in newspapers, new-age media promotion methods (Internet website, WeChat public account, YouTube, Youku, Facebook, etc.).

  方法二：推广健康素食，如素月饼、素斋、等健康环保的产品。

  Method 2: Promote healthy vegetarian foods, such as vegetarian mooncakes, vegetarian food, and other healthy and environmentally friendly products.

  •方法三：用多种方式吸引年轻人到寺院来当义工、禅修、学习佛法。

  •Method 3: Use a variety of methods to attract young people to the temple to volunteer, meditate, and learn Dharma.

  方法四：定期举办青少年学习课程，学习中国语言、学习中国字画、学习少林功夫等。

  Method 4: Regularly hold educational courses for youth, such as Chinese language courses, Chinese calligraphy and painting courses, and Shaolin Kung Fu.

  方法五：以文化艺术来吸引当地人了解佛教，如建五台山仿唐大雄宝殿，以此作为交流平台。
